Don W. Fleming Executive Profile

After more than thirty eight years in extensive law enforcement experience, Don Fleming became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cobra International Investigations Inc. A native of New York City, he began his law enforcement career in 1973 when he was appointed to the Little Ferry, New Jersey Police Department. He quickly rose through the ranks and in 1985 was promoted to the rank of Detective Captain of the Investigation Division; and served as Little Ferry Police Chief for 14 years after being promoted to Chief of Police in 1987. From 2005-2013 Mr. Fleming was the elected Sheriff of Flagler County Florida for two four year terms.

A graduate of William Paterson University with a Master’s Degree in Urban Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Mr. Fleming has an extensive wealth of knowledge in the criminal justice field. He has attended numerous professional and technical development seminars conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Secret Service, State and County Law Enforcement Agencies. He has also served as Adjunct Faculty at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Criminal Justice / Sociology, and as guest speaker at professional seminars regarding a variety of law enforcement topics.

Mr. Fleming is listed in several Who’s Who and is a member of a number of professional organizations including the International Association of Chiefs of Police, New Jersey Police Honor Legion, New Jersey Police Crime Prevention Association, New Jersey State Chiefs of Police, the Bergen County Chief’s Association, The Federal Foundation of New York and past president and gold card recipient PBA Local102.

Mr. Fleming is a Vietnam Veteran and a life member of VFW Post 8696, Knights of Columbus fourth degree assembly 2810 and Council 10514, Palm Coast Elks; Lodge 2709 (Elks citizen of the year 2009), the Portuguese American Club and a former member of the Florida Sheriff’s Association and National Sheriff’s Association.

Mr. Fleming is a former advisory board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Volusia-Flagler, Crime Stoppers of Volusia-Flagler, Executive Board member of HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Task Force, Jacksonville Region and also a former Member of the Board of Directors for the Florida Sheriffs Association.
